Start with Amazon's own help Amazon's official help is the best place to resolve account and order issues: Amazon Help & Customer Service · Your Orders. These open Amazon's own website.

Find an order and check its status

  1. Open the Amazon app or website and sign in the normal way.
  2. Go to Returns & Orders (or Your Orders).
  3. Use the search box or the date filter to find the order.
  4. Select Track package to see the latest delivery stage.

If a package looks late

  • Check the estimated delivery window again. Dates can shift as a package moves.
  • Look for a "delivered" note and check nearby spots such as a porch, mailroom or neighbor.
  • Wait a day if the status says delivered but nothing has arrived, then use the order page's help options.

Returns and refunds: how the process generally works

  1. Open Your Orders and select the item.
  2. Choose the return or replace option if it is offered for that item.
  3. Pick a reason and a return method from the choices shown.
  4. Follow the label or drop-off instructions on screen, then keep any receipt.
  5. Watch your order page and email for the refund status and timing.
Good to know Whether an item can be returned, and when a refund is issued, is decided by Amazon and the seller. We cannot approve or speed up a refund. We can help you understand the screens and what to have ready.

Sign-in and password problems

  1. Type the address into your browser, or open the app yourself. Do not use links from unexpected messages.
  2. Choose the "forgot password" option on Amazon's own sign-in page.
  3. Follow Amazon's on-screen steps to verify it is you.
  4. Create a new, unique password you do not use anywhere else.
  5. Consider turning on two-step verification in your account security settings.
Never share your codes A one-time code is for you alone. Nobody who is genuinely helping you needs it read aloud. That includes us: we will never ask for your password or codes.

Check or end a membership or subscription

  1. Sign in and open Account & Lists.
  2. Look for your memberships and subscriptions section.
  3. Open the one you want to review and read its renewal date and terms.
  4. Use the management options shown there to change or end it yourself.

If you see a charge you do not recognize, check your account's order history and payment settings first, then contact your bank or card issuer if needed.

Spot a scam message

Scammers often copy retail brands. Warning signs include:

  • Urgent threats such as "your account will be closed in one hour".
  • A link or phone number in a text or email you did not expect.
  • A request for gift cards, codes, passwords or remote access to your device.
  • Messages about an order you do not remember placing.
What to do Do not tap links or call numbers in the message. Open the app yourself and check your orders. You can report scams to the FTC, and check Amazon's own help pages for how to report a suspicious message.
